"The
Mountain Dulcimer Plays Hank Williams"
(Book-JS135B)
This book contains sixteen tunes in D-A-d
tuning. Four of them are repeated in D-F#-A tuning,
making twenty arrangements in all.
Tull Glazener says: "For those who have been yearning for a tab book of some "classic country" hits, this book is for you. John has proven himself to be highly skilled at arranging for the mountain dulcimer, as those of you who have his previous book can attest to. It's not an easy process to work through all the "red tape" involved in securing copyright licenses/permissions to publish this type of music; John is to be commended for persevering in that task. Hopefully this will encourage/inspire other dulcimer arrangers to consider making arrangements of contemporary music available as well. The process can be a daunting (not to mention an expensive) one, but as John and others have proven, it can be done. Now it's up to us to support their efforts by purchasing their books!"

"New"
Old Hymns for the Mountain Dulcimer - 20 old favorites
in 1-3-5 tuning
(Book-JS135A)
This book contains twenty hymns, arranged by
John Sackenheim using the 1-3-5 tuning. This
tuning, and John's arrangements of these hymns, provides
the opportunity for mountain dulcimer players to play the hymns with the fuller sound of more complete chords
and embellishments. Some of the hymns would be
very hard, if not impossible, to play in D-A-d and
D-A-A. The tablature features the melody notes in large bold
numerals and the filler (embellishments) in smaller,
fine line numerals. The beginner can play the bold
numbers and the hymn will sound just fine. The
intermediate and advanced player can use all the numbers
for a more arranged sound.

"Rainbow
Collection" (BOOK-MR135D)
This book is a musical diorama of annotated tablature
arrangements, showing the evolution of American folk/pop
music from the mid-1800’s, through the Gay Nineties, and
including the first decade of the 20th century. Our
musical journey shows how both the color and tempo of
our music changed under the influence of ragtime and
blues, as the popularity of parlor music gave way to
music arranged for dancing and public performances in
vaudeville and concert halls.
This book is unique as a reference in providing a
“state-of-the-art” summary of information about 1-3-5
tuning systems. The book interfaces closely with this
website in providing answers to questions and detailed
Learning Aids.
The twenty arrangements include many American stage
favorites later immortalized in movies. The formatting
and binding are the same as for the previous books of
this series, providing ease of playing and resistance to
wear.
